Church Bar + Woodfired Pizza

Church Bar and Wood fired Pizza is Bathurst's newest Bar and Restaurant to meet with your family or friends for dinner or drinks. Church Bar resides in one of Bathurst’s oldest buildings, is rich with history, and oozes character and class.

Opened in September 2008 by publicans Matt Harrowsmith and James Derriman, these young cousins have used their exclusive experience in the hospitality industry to breathe a fresh breath into the Bathurst social scene.

Church Bar is located in Ribbon Gang Lane. History tells us that the notorious “Ribbon Gang” were the local bushrangers that terrorized the people of Bathurst during the 1830’s. The “Ribbon Gang”  are said to have been hanged in the lane way where the Church Bar is located. Church Bar is housed in the old Anglican Church School House. The rich history of the building is felt through the ornate ceilings, original structure and old time charm illuminated by dim candle light. This funky and classy bar with its imported Italian wood-fired pizza oven has crowds drawing to the Church Bar from near and far.
